Expectations

When it comes to communication, I believe in transparency, mutual respect, and setting clear expectations. I follow the 24-hour rule. I will not discuss anything about the game until the next day, so all parties can approach a conversation with a level head. I strongly encourage players to come to me directly first as I am an open book, and part of their growth is learning to advocate for themselves. If further discussion is needed, I’m always open to setting up a meeting that includes the athletic director or other coaches, keeping the conversation solution-focused and centered on what’s best for the team and individual.

From parents, I expect support, positivity, and respect for the program and the process. Their role is essential in creating a culture where athletes feel encouraged and held accountable. I ask parents to trust the coaching staff, allow coaches to coach, and reinforce the team’s values at home. While I understand the emotional investment in their child’s experience, we’re most successful when everyone stays aligned in their roles. I value parents who help build our culture, and let our coaches coach.
